Conferences
Each year, the Hamburg Institute for Social Research organizes numerous academic conferences, workshops, and colloquia, which aim to promote exchange and discussion among scholars and are thus open to a limited number of invited participants from specific disciplines. Often these conferences begin with lectures that are open to the public.
Conferences with international participants often have English or occasionally French as their working language for some or all sessions. On the Institute’s English website, the title of a particular event is first given in the language in which it was conducted, followed by an English translation if the original language was German or French.
