Archives

Established in 1988, the Archives of the Hamburg Institute for Social Research house a growing collection of materials relevant to the Institute’s research, publication, and exhibition activities. These include records and papers, gray literature, flyers, periodicals, posters, photographs and audiovisual media on various topics in contemporary history, with a special focus on protest movements.

Das Archiv des Hamburger Instituts für Sozialforschung wird 2028 vom Bundesarchiv (Koblenz) übernommen.
Einige Bestände mit direktem Hamburg-Bezug werden dem Hamburger Staatsarchiv angeboten.

Opening hours

Workplaces in the Archives are assigned to users who have contacted the Archives in advance. Registered users can work in the Archives Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
