Periodical Holdings

The Institute’s catalog lists 2,700 periodicals, including 260 current periodical subscriptions and 2,050 periodical titles in the archive’s Special Collection on Protest Movements. The “Advanced Search” form enables users to limit their research to periodicals only. The content of all periodicals is indexed.

Our periodical holdings are also recorded in the German Union Catalog of Serials (ZDB), the Common Library Network Catalog (GBV) and the Electronic Journals Library (EZB).

Alphabetical List of Current Subscriptions to Periodicals in Print
The HIS Library currently subscribes to about 260 print periodicals, which include scholarly journals as well as political, cultural, and news magazines and newspapers.

Electronic Journals Library (EZB)
The EZB is a service that provides effective use of full-text academic periodicals on the Internet. It currently encompasses 90,000 titles. 56,000 of these are available free of charge and marked with a green button.
About 900 periodicals in a full-text version are licensed by the Institute's library. They are marked with an orange button.

The Oxford publishing house issues 160 online periodicals in the humanities and social sciences. The license also applies to current volumes.
