Internships
The Hamburg Institute for Social Research offers internships for a period of at least one month in its Library and Archives. However, the number of internships available is limited, so that priority is given to those students who must fulfill internship requirements to complete their degree. Applicants are expected to have a lively interest in the Institute’s areas of research. Interns generally receive a stipend.
If you are interested in an internship in the Library or the Archives, please contact us in an email addressed to bewerbung@his-online.de. Your request will then be forwarded to the appropriate department.
On rare occasions, internships become available in the context of research projects. The main focus here is on contributing to work within a specific research project and in organizing conferences and seminars. Whenever such internships are planned, we publish more detailed information under Current Job Openings .
Scholarships
Within the context of individual research projects, the Hamburg Institute for Social Research offers scholarships for young researchers at PhD-level. Whenever such an opportunity becomes available, a respective call for applications will be published under Current Job Openings .
The scholarships carry a monthly stipend of €1.400 as a base amount.
